rattlin noise
I have a 2001 B4000 4x4 and when I start the truck when its cold there is a nasty rattlin noise coming from the engine, it's not any shroud or anything like that it is definitely from inside the engine any guesses?

Lifters slowly pumping up, collapsed lifter(s), flat cam, other valve train issues and all pretty unlikely. Or for some odd reason your pickup tube is clogged with something that shouldn't be there (again, pretty unlikely). Or the engine could be dirty on the inside and you have a stickly lifter(s). Or it could be that you are not using the oil viscosity recommended by Ford.
