Bench Seat

What year models can I use to put a bench seat in my 69 F-100?

I'm gonna have to have everything, including the sliders. The truck I bought has an old Chebby seat just sitting in there. Not the best of all worlds.

Floor frames from 65 to 79 will work, and as noted seats up to 96 will fit those frames.

What about behind the seat gas tank

This might be a silly newbie question, but is there any problems with putting these seats into a truck with a behind the seat gas tank?

There are no "silly questions". The truck I'm talking about has the gas tank behind the seat.

Thanks John, that's what I was looking for. I just ordered over $500 worth of stuff to completely re-do my interior. It's a mess right now.

The '73-'79 seat actually has a thinner back so it fits fine with plenty of clearance for the tank. I have a seat out of a '76 in my '68, straight bolt-in swap. It's firmer than the '68 seat, too.

I have a seat from a mid 80's truck. It's a HUGE improvement over the trampoline of a seat that came in the truck. Now I know I can get a seat up to '96 I'm going hunting at the junk yard.

I have a '78 seat in my '69. Still a bit soft compared to the new trucks. I want a later model one myself.

Shouldn't '97 f250 seats be the same?

I got one out of a 95. I just changed out the sliders and it works fine except the lever thats in the back of the seat that allows you to flip the seat forward was sticking out too far and when the seat is all the way back it was hitting the tank. I removed that and everything works fine

I found a seat and all the hardware I needed at the local boneyard. $40 for all. I gutted the interior over the weekend and took it to a body shop to have the inside painted. When he's done, it goes to the upholsterer for the seat to get recovered and a new headliner. Painting the inside yellow and white with black seats and armrests, and dash pad. Can't wait to see what it's gonna look like. Got all new weatherstripping, which it needed badly.

I've got a '69 seat in my '69 and have no issues with it at all. Of course it's a good thing I have lap belts to keep me from getting flung into the headliner when I'm off-road!

F-250/350's continued through 1998 until the Super Duty came out. They would use the same seat and sliders as mentioned before.
