When i took the insulation off the drivers side ic pipe mine also had that "dent". I read on here that it was a "dent" from the factory to clear another part.
I dont want to hijack, but I have a question about the nut connecting to the PS unit right there by the bend in the IC pipe. When I got my truck (used) it was leaking PS fluid badly from that assembly. The dealer replaced the entire hose/nut and it no longer leaks. I was looking at it yesterday and it looks like the IC pipe is hitting the nut on the PS unit and I am afraid of it ldeveloping a leak again. When the motor torques, does the IC tube move? If it does, I think I have a problem. I was thinking about doing the foil delete on the IC pipe, which would really show the clearance or lack there of. How close should the nut and the IC pipe be?
Brently, I don't remember what kind of clearance i had between the two but the ic pipe is connected by rubber boots that have some flex to them. You should be able to tell if you have some marks on the insulation on the ic tube.

On mine, before I took the insulation off, I could see marks on it where the nut had been hitting it all along, rubbing the cottony stuff. It even had a sorta burnt area right there, I guess from the hot nut rubbing against that material.
I'm sure it still contacts the nut even without the insulation, but rather than constantly rubbing it, it probably just taps it some. I know one or two folks have added some sort of insulation or soft part there where the contact zone might be, but I don't think it's an issue.
Please tell me if my logic is corrrect. Since the IC tube is connected by rubber boots on both ends, it somewhat "floats" in it's position. Therefore, if it does hit the nut on the PS assembly during motor torque, it can't possibly put too much pressure on it since the boots flex some. Is this correct? I think I am just paranoid becasue I am still cleaning PS flud from the underside of the truck after the nut failed last time. What a mess.
i had to pull mine away and zip tye it back cause it has worn a hole just about all the way through...been looking on sights to find thses tube but no luck yet..was going to call some of them to see if i could get one.. but if any one knows of a place ..im all ears..thanks alot..
