I'd weld some old engine lifting eyes or a piece of chain of whatever was handy to the casing, (or secure chain around it with bolts) then winch it out with a come-along, winch, etc using a ****** block if needed to change direction of pull.
If you can tip it over on some sections of pipe, it will roll some of the way.
It may be easier to roll/skid/drag as one piece.
Manual lifting is evil, come-alongs are cheap.
I have a tractor with a loader and backhoe available for pulling it out of the basement. The problem is I can no longer get close enough to the basement doors to do so.
The fence project was more important at the time than getting the safe out and now the fence is in the way.
I am looking for a way to break it up and take it out in chunks.
I already figured that there was no easy way to do this. I was just checking to see if anyone had any ideas that I hadn't thought of.
As others have said, I would be real hesitant to break it up in the basement due to asbestos. The stuff gets everywhere and is obviously a strong carcinogen.
Haul it out of the basement first, then get rid of it intact. Bury it in the backyard if you have to.
I just recently moved a gun safe to the basement of my house. 30"X24"X60" and about 700#. I had use of an appliance dolly and a couple extra guys. It took a while but it got down there. For the next move of this I'm going to sink it into a wall as I finish the basement.
Anyway a couple strong guys and an appliance dolly and you can get it up the stairs.
If you can get it TO the fence, you might arrange for a wrecker to reach over with the boom and pick it up.
Paying for tow truck assistance might beat the alternatives.
Can you get a straight line between the raised loader bucket and the basement doorway?
If you welded a grab hook (even good ones are cheap) to the bucket you could use a chained ****** block to control where your cable went, no matter what you used to winch it.
Whatever you do take it slow and easy. Stay away from anywhere gravity might take the load if something gives. Always block the load so it is supported by something other than human muscle. I have moved a number of safes over the years from strange locations. Did I mention taking it SLOW AND EASY???
I'd would frame up a section of the fence and turn it into a gate. Then you can drive your tractor as close as you need to, it would certainly make things easier.
