Interior light delay

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the delay for interior light when you close the door? Iwant the interior light to go out when the door closes.
Any ideas?

Hmm...this is with the truck off right? Do the newer SD's have that fancy 'theater lighting' that gradually dims? When my truck is on, as soon as I close the door, the lights shut off.

Click the remote to lock the doors, hence turning off the lights, then unlock them with the switch on the door? Thats the only thing I can think of.

It's an 03 and I want the lights to go out when the door shuts with the key out.

When the door opens light goes on
when the door closes light goes off

me too

I'd also like to know more about the interior lights. What I'm wanting is a way for the lights to be off when the door is open also. While at the drive-in theatre, I would like to leave the doors open to get better sound for the movie but the interior lights also stayed on. The first thing I thought of was to just pull the bulb, but when I did that, one of the contacts also came off. I thought this was odd but probably just an anomaly so I went and tried to pull the other one (back seat) and the same thing happened. What’s up with that? Now I have to purchase new dome light assemblies at about $40 apiece or find some way to re-solder the contacts back in. Anybody experience this situation? When I get that done, I would like to find an easy way to bypass the door switch. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do that?
BTW - I was a member of this forum back in the late '90s but have been away for a while. Now, I'm new again. I have an '03 F250 FX4 PSD. It's great to be back and though I look forward to looking at all the good info, I'm not looking forward to the amount of time it will take to get through it all. This forum has really grown and changed (for the batter) over the last few years.

I did the same thing. I just soldered the bulb to the remaining prongs works fine. Just a PITA when I have to change the bulb but oh well

Now back to our regulary scheduled thread
any ideas on how to change the delay on the light?
