OK, I searched (probably scrolled right past it). Where am I going to find the shocks for the front of my 56 F-100 (stock steering and suspension). Everyone in the world seems to carry the rear ones but I can't find the front ones anywhere.
Is there some little trick here that I just don't know?
Napa list them online for my 56 (cheap and decent). I think they are made by gabrial (sp?). The gabrials I had on my ranger were fine. Well...I lied. They used to be listed online there. Hmm....have you checked with them?
Autozone carries extremely cheap ones in their computers (I checked). I don't recommend the cheap shocks though.
Ahh...there they are. I am not making it up. They were on the napa site this summer because I looked . At least you can get gabriels now.
I thought mine were just the old junk ones on my truck (painted with the eastwood's rust encapsulator), but the PO told me they were new, he just hated the color (LOL).
I just bought a set of Gabriel Ultra front shocks for my '56 at Autozone for $30 bucks a piece. They can also order the cheaper version for $14 each. They come white stock and I just painted them black so they did not stand out so much.
I took my old ones to the parts store and had the sales guy match them.
Worked fine.

That works too. I am sure nuthin has the correct shocks on hers.
Just beware of something extremely weird and hopefully something that no one else has ever done.
Over on the Y-block forum someone was removing the old shocks from his car and almost got hurt. The PO had apparently used very short shocks on it to lower the vehicle. You can imagine what happened when the new owner removed the shock.
