friday night, i drove home from school, pulled in the driveway at about 9:30pm, let everything cool down, and then pulled everything off. saturday morning, started at about 11am, bolted on the EFI exhaust manifolds, Walker downpipe, Offy DP Intake, and the Holley 390CFM carb. hooked all the vacuum lines up, finished off everything else by about 10pm (factor in lunch/dinner breaks and lots of trips to different stores).
at about 10:30, let it crank for a bit to get it primed, stopped cranking, turned the key once and it started. It runs now, but of course the carb needs mucho tuning to get it running nicely.
I did have alot of problems with the throttle linkage. I tried to put on the fancy expensive LoKar cables and bracket i bought, but there was no room between the carb and what i think is the heater coils or something. that made me pretty sad. i dont know what i'm going to do about that yet, i suppose i'll have to fabricate a bracket to hold the throttle cable and the tranny kickdown cable.
also i dont know where to get an air filter assembly that will be small enough to fit.
I'm hoping to spend most of the day wednesday tuning the carb so that it runs well and i can drive it, so then i can go get a 3" pipe welded onto the walker downpipe.
well thats my update up to this point, i'll add more as more things happen!

I used a 10 inch diameter air cleaner to clear my heater unit. It clears by about 3 inches. I got mine from summit, part number MRG-9791, its $19 and its a decent piece. I've noticed others with our set up have gone with similiar diameter air cleaners for clearance. Since you have the AC on your truck you might need to use a little smaller air cleaner for clearance.
As for your throttle cable did you try using the factory one? I have a manual transmission so I didn't have the automatic kick down cable, but Bigbear1 has some good pictures in his gallery how how he hooked up his linkage. Heres his gallery:
i considered and started making a bracket using the factory one, but then i decided i'd prefer to have the correct lokar one that will line up perfectly and everything (but i suppose its not really an option anymore)
the heater unit under my hood looks to be a decent size bigger than yours..causing me all kinds of problems. with the size yours is, it looks like i would be able to use my bracket/cables and a 10" filter, but with mine, everything is rubbing against it.
