I have 52f1 and the stoplight license bracket bolts to the tailgate hinge location. When the rear bumper is on it covers the license plate. Where is the correct location.

The plate bracket mounts to the drivers side bracket that bolts in front of the stake pocket at the same level as the tailgate hinge. it sounds like yours is in the right place. Yhe license plate bracket mounts between the bracket and the lamp, so the plate is right up under the lamp. Your bumper, is it a factory bumper? The factory bumper brackets drop down about 4 inches to allow for plate visability. Maybe you can post another message here, describing what your bumper and brackets look like.

 

I have the same problem with mine. I have a bracket
that holds the tail lamp in place that the license
plate bracket bolts to. When it is in what appears to
be the correct place half of the plate is not visible
due to being obstructed by the bumper. I have a stock
bumper with stock brackets to hold it and I guess I'll
just live with it for now.
