The other item that will fatigue or stress a frame, would be an auto accident.
I just don't see how these ford frames can fatique.
I have driven and have seen driven, these Ford trucks thru everything, hauled everything, and have yet to see a frame failure.
I've seen it happen on tow-trucks -- hanging 1500lbs off the tail-end on a wheel-lift several times a day for years really stresses the frame between bed & cab. For towing a heavily-loaded truck, slinging is a lot easier on the tow-truck, but the casualty can be damaged by its own frame-flex.
I sure it was more than 1500lbs, and I am sure it took some time for the frame to fatigue and stress.
My buddy had a 1978 F350 dually wrecker, the frame when it retired in 1989 was in good shape. The tow truck went up for sale last year.
I remember the front end of the truck coming up in the air when the loads were extra heavy.
