I'm in the process of putting in new galley seals to my turbo on my 1995 F250 Supercab 4x4. Is there a trick to removing the exhaust pipe immidiately behind the turbo which snakes down behind the engine, According to the factory manual it should come out without to much problem but I can't seem to figure it out.Any suggestions would be most welcome as I can't seem to solve this Rubic's Cube.

Yeah...that one is can be a pain, but it will come out with the downpipe in place.
I've never tried to remove a stock downpipe intact, I cut them in half to remove and worry about snaking the new ones up into place....which is also a job since the aftermarket pipes are not squashed flat in the middle like the stocker.
I didn't try as I was following the factory manual but now that you mention it it sounds like you've done it and its possible. I'll try that approach tomorrow and let you know. Thanks for the advice

I need to replace the Right Rear oil galley plug and am also wondering about the downpipe. Does it have to come off to get to this particular oil galley plug? I'm not looking to upgrade it, want to keep it stock. THanks!
Are you referring to Main oil gallery plug, because I would think the downpipe is the least of your worries.I think the trans and flywheel also have to be removed for access.
loosen the dp from the turbo. remove the big clamp. loosen the cat frame mount under the cab. push the dp out of the way.
install a 1/2 ratchet(i used a craftsman worked perfect) into the plug. place a long strap over the handle of the ratchet. stand on your drivers side right behind the tire and pull the strap. it will break loose pretty easy. that dp will not completely come out with out sawing it in half.
if you cant tell i did this before on my dads truck.
put a piece of cardboard on the ground because a lot of oil drips out.
clean threads really good of galley and apply loctite to new plug with the new blue ring on it.
they are about 23.00 for the new plug with oring from ih. do you need the part number?
sounds like a plan. I've got the plug with the o-ring actually, getting some Loctite 277 tuesday so this will wait til after then, I'd rather wait and have the right stuff than put another kind in. Help is much appreciated!!!
