You didn't list the trouble code numbers, so it's just a guess, but a faulty DPFE is the most common cause of a EGR fault code & a improperly tightened/loose, gas cap is the most common cause for it's trouble code.
Be wary of the so-called "gas cap" code. Oftentimes places like Autozone will hook up a reader and when they see a Ford EVAP code they simply tell the customer it's a gas cap issue when in fact it's something more than that.
Thanks for a fine post Rockledge, it says it all!!!!!
Dghoff it's a Delta Pressure Feedback Egr, sometimes referred to at the parts stores as a "EGR Sensor", it controls the EGR valve & tells it when to do it's thing. The DPFE is a common failure point on a EGR fault code, so suspect it before the EGR valve, unless your EGR valve is rusted & falling apart!!!!!
Would be helpful if you'd post ALL the trouble code numbers & the squence in which they were retrieved from the computer.
