Hello All
I own a 02 F250 7.3L ower Stroke when its cold out below 43F The Overdrive and ABS lights are blinking as soon as the temp gauge reaches the first mark these light don't blink any more. Any Ideals? Thanks
Each of those lights means a code was stored in the computer's memory. Have someone with a Ford specific OBDII scan tool read the codes and then you won't have to guess.
If I had to guess I'd say that the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is dying. It's located on top of the rear differential.
The scan tool said VSS was bad so I replaced it with an OEM part still the same thing is happining But I forgot to mention the spedo isnt working ABS light is on and the overdrive light blinks untill the truck warms up then all is normal.
This Morning I pluged the computer into the truck it kept saying disconected when the truck warmed up the spedo worked lights stop flashing and my coputer connected to the truck. IS MY COMPUTER GOING BAD?
Do you have an aftermarket programmer installed? If no, then I recommend disconnecting the neg battery cable and turn on the headlights (for 30 or 45 min) to help discharge any residual power in the system.
Turn headlights off...and reconnect the neg battery cable. Take SD for a drive (30-50 min...both highway and city) so the PCM can re-learn you’re driving...and see if this helps. If this does not help...it is certainly possible the PCM is going bad.
