my 74 f-250 has got some rust and im not sure how to fix this or if it would be better to have a professional take care of this. which should i do and where can i find info to this kind of repair
There are a few questions you need to answer for anyone to help you.
How much rust is there
where is the rust located
what extent do you want it repaired to.
what is your personal experiance in rust repair.
If you want the rust cut out and the parts replaced. Is it just some surface rust that can be sanded filled and smoothed. Is it body rust, structural rust. Some parts are much easier to replace than others. I don't want to sound like mr. smart guy, I'm just the opposite, but having read alot of info from these posts the guys that do have the knowledge need a little more than " I've got rust, how do I fix it. Give them as much info that you can, and these guys will amaze you with what can and how stuff should be done. I on the other hand am learning!!!
I can't afford to stay at the Holiday Inn Express so thats why I ask so many questions.
I agree!! Depends on where the rust is. If it's in a spot where you would have to cut part of the metal out and replace with a patch panel than it's more work. If you can weld, than panel replacement isn't that tough, just takes time. There are some tricks to weld on the thin metal so you don't warp it.
