automatic hubs

i have a p5 f250, i put it in 4x4 the other day(i have automatic hubs), and it didnt seem like it was in, o i put it back in 2 wheel, then put it in nuetral and put it in 4x4 low, that did work. i put it back in 4x4 and it was going fine, the light on the dash wasnt on tho. so i didnt think anything of it, and i put it back in 2 wheel drive and i was driving and after i hit about 20mph, the left front hub started making a clicking sound, like it wasnt fully disengaged. so i stopped put it in 4x4 and drove around with it in for a while. no sound when in 4x4. put it back in 2 wheel and still the noise, only quieter. drove home, about a half hour. sound stopped. i was just wondering if it is that i havent used the 4x4 in a while and it just need to get the oil flowing in the hubs since it was around 40 degrees out, maybe it was getting thick?? im not sure. anyone got any ideas?

there is no oil, just grease. they could be sticking, but go to your dealer. these hubs are around 400 a piece.
