I previously had a 2002 Lightning that ran 12.17 in the 1/4 mile. With that truck I simply mashed the gas to get it down the track with the mod's I had. I plan on running my 04 250 SD next week. Current mods SCMT set on performance, MBRP exhaust and Airaid intake. What kind of ET should I expect ? Also when I am playing around On the street, It seems that I get more power from the truck If I accelerate gradual instead of mashing the gas to the floor. Will the truck run faster in the 1/4 if I use this method ?
OK your best bet is to throw the truck in 4 wheel drive, and power brake it until it wants to go. Its a hard launch, but its the only way to get decent times. I was able to pull a 14 flat with just an sct w/ innovative race tune and mbrp cat back exhaust. Hope that helps a bit.
While we are on the Limited slip diff, I did a burn out the other day and only the right wheel turned. I checked my paperwork for the sale of the truck and it confirmed that I have a LSD rear. What's wrong ?
you overheated the clutches inside your diff. It has happened to me a couple of times.I have now put a hypermag rear cover(more fluid= cooler temps) on and havent had the problem again.

Welcome to the world of OEM LSD's. I'm getting mine an Eaton Gear Driven LSD soon.
if you launch in 4 high.. should you through it back to 2 high after you get down the track around 50 mph ? i though 4 high was not really meant to run top end ???
You can throw it back into 2wd, but it wont disengage until you take your foot off the go pedal. I didn't have any problems with mine and I ran it up to 100mph in 4hi. I did switched out about half way down the track, this way when it came time to make the turn off the strip, I wasn't fumbling around with my helmet and everythig else.
