Looking for bigger tires
I have a 1996 F250 4 x 4 looking to put bigger tires on her, right now she has stock tires but how big of a tire can I go while keeping her stock I just don't want the tires to rub against the front bumper or leaf springs and it is a plow truck so in the wintertime there's some weight on the front axles

its hard to say cause you are loading down your front end, best thing IMO is install it with all your accesseries install to get your truck at the ride it it will be worked and then swing by a tire shop and see if they can help you out by taking some messurements.
remember if your making tight manuvers in a parking lot, get them to mesure your avalable space with your wheel in a hard right/left turn in the locked postion, just by turning the wheel and letting go the steering wheel will spring back and give you more room then you woyuld actually have

yep 285/75R16 is about all you can get in there but even then you need to trim the bumper or shim it out a bit. i put a leveling kit on mine but this year my spring bushings have gone bad so now it rubs the bumper some when at half stuff and full turn. the dunes have a way of taking the guts out of the marginal spring bushings.

i run 315's on my stock F350, however i do admit i have ranch hand bumpers so bumper clearance is of no issue. however i do know from previous trucks that if you trim the bottom lip of the bumper off and maybe shim the bumper out just a lil you should be able ti run them fine.
you are gonna have a hard time running 315's on stock rims without rubbing the springs unless you run spacers. the taller tires are inherently wider unless you run SS LTB's or another skinny tire.
whats so terrible about them rubbing the springs?

How far off is your speedo now?
I'm about due for new tires and I think I've found my next set.

Shawn1774 Those weren't my wheels I highlited helifixers post in "quotes" to direct my question at him, wish they were mine though.
I priced that size tires from a few different local stores and they start at $150.00 and go on up over $200.00 each (mounted + balanced) depending on the name that's on the side.
Does anyone have suggestions on what name brands to get or avoid? I never had good luck with Goodyears on any car, P/U or semi that I had. My semis liked Bridgestone much better, would that carry over to P/Us too?

speedo is corect as someone before me had larger tires on the truck and corrected the speedo.
as for the rims they are mickey thompson look alikes (the old ones from the '90's made by alcoa to look like the semi wheels) anyhow I purchased them from discount tire with caps lug nuts and tires with free replacement waranty for $1785
