Hi Everyone! I have a 2000 F250SD 7.3 PSD, 4X4, 35's, Transflow 50 extra tank, Banks Sixgun on top of Superchips, Monstor 4" exhaust,Big Head Waste Gate actuator, AFE Stage 2. Think thats it. Now here is my question! This thing seems to be struggling to pull my trailer GTVW 16,000lbs at the 70-75 mile an hour. I have a trans temp gage, pyro and boost gage. at heavy accelaration and down shift I get about 20-22 pounds of boost the EGT's are in the 800 -900 range, and the trans temp hasnt gone above about 210F How can i tell if the trans or torque converter is slipping, Had it flushed just before the last tow and added a aux cooler 30,000 gvw. Nothing unusal but the fluid did smell a little burnt. This rig only has 78,000 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated.
Deja vu all over again. Same boat. Or was. I had a couple of culprits.
First off, I put some stock in your slippage theory. That's worth investigating. Historically, I burn a tranny up in about 40K miles. Not fun. And I don't rod it. So I got a BTS. Brian sez to me on the phone "I hope you flushed the he** out of the tranny cooler or replaced it, you left part of your transmission in there" I had replaced it. (He had looked at the returned core)
My other issue was the fuel system. Might not sound related, but I had a lot of sludge / gunk / residue whatever you want to call it clogging things up and impacting flow. Enough so that at higher speeds (more fuel demand) it just couldn't deliver.
So, don't know what you got going on, but theres 2 things worth looking into.
So If you dont mind saying what did the BTS run Ya? I have been looking into a BTS and TC even sent him a E-Mail but no response. Was also lookin at ATS but to many bad raps on the warranty service. Did you install yourself or take it to Brian? Also I recently changed the Fuel filter pretty clean in there. Wher did you find your sludge?

Reason: update
BTS 3900. Core 1000, refunded.
Dont email. If you call, don't even leave a message. He makes a nice tranny but I've never had them respond to an email or a voice mail. You gotta actually get someone on the phone.
Local guy installed it.
Sludge started at the pickup in the tank, in the lines, in the fuel pump. Replaced all of it, it was that bad. FASS is mo' gooder!
Thanks for the info, Soon as the funds are there will probably do just that. After the switch was there huge difference? Thats what I have heard from most.
Where are you in Texas? If you are close to Oklahoma City I would recommend Fabion Motorsports. Jon built mine and quite a few others on these Diesel Forums (not as many as BTS, but quite a few). I've seen his work first hand on some 450+ HP Diesels at the track in Noble, OK.
Oklahoma City is closer to me than BTS, how about his prices comparable and is his warranty as good? What do you guys think about the TC Manual lock control? It looks like a easy and well worth mod.

I'll send you a PM with Faubions contact info. I had the TC lock-up mod when I had the stock tranny. I didn't keep it hooked up after the new tranny.
