throttle cable hanging up

throttle cable hanging up
has anyone else had a problem with the throttle cable hanging up at the ip end. it seems that the plastic sleeve at the end has broken and the spring hangs up on the broken end of the sleeve. when it is hung up, you can't press down the pedal.
is the only fix a new cable ?

Actually mine is like what you describe too, 2jhanna. You're talking about the orange-colored "sleeve", right? Only difference is mine doesn't seem to hang up for some reason. Maybe its because the last 1/4" or so is still there and intact.
The plasitc just broke into a bunch of little pieces and I pulled them out through the coils of the spring. Seems like a pretty minor thing to require going through the hassle of replacing the whole cable.

jeeper, that is exactly what i am talking about. mine is apparently worse than yours. when more in chipped away, the more apt it is to hanging up. i may have worsened mine when i changed my ip a few weeks ago.
hopefully some body has come up with a fix, without full replacement.
