oil pressure
For some reason i cannot search so i will just ask. I finally installed a oil pressure gage in my truck and I am getting around 40 during idle about 70 around 35mph. I didn't take it out on the highway to see my max. Do these numbers sound good. I also poured some rotello 15w-40 oil in the motor tonight. I don't know if I am crazy but the motor seems to run smoother now. thanks again for all the help you guys have given me.

My 390 will run numbers very similar to that, when it's cold. As long as it doesn't go much above 70psi I wouldn't be worried. If it goes above 100psi you've probably got a problem with the oil pump bypass valve. If that sticks on a cold morning your oil pressure can go way high, causing problems.
But yeah, that sounds fine. See what it is when it's fully warmed up.
On the sound issue: Thicker oil will typically make 'em run quieter.
