I've been running a Pertronix electronic point set up for 15000 Miles on my Ford 240-6 banger Falcon Van ... took the points set out of the glovebox 10000 Miles ago ... not using any other of their proprietary stuff and things go just fine ...

Best bang for the buck I've come across in a long time ... installation was way too easy and made me suspicious but the mileage doesn't lie ...

Well Big thnaks to everyone for all your help. As we figured out from the block stamp I was lied to by the seller on eBay-the absolute worst buying experience of my life! I am going to find out if there is some sort of claim in the way of internet fraud. Oh well, enough whining. It's a 200CI L6 from a '78 Fairmont. Carburator and alternator going in next. I HAVE to figure out how to post pics on this site. Peace...

In my experience, the '63 econ's could have been a 144, 170 and in very rare circumstance a 200. Ford didn't offer the 240 until '65 ...

If you decide to get a new distributor, consider our D.U.I.-Davis Unified Ignition or our custom curved Duraspark distributor. Please see them at:

Yes, we do offer them for the straight 6.
