thinking about jody. . .

Now lets not get this title out of control. I'm happy with my truck. Very much so. Every little thing I keep doing helps out more. Hmax is working on an on/off chip for me. . . whenever they get that done I'll try it. But there seems to be so many people happy with jody's product. . . that I don't think it would hurt to investigate it. With my setup. . . I'm really only looking for a few things. All out ***** to the walls power, an economy setting, and a good tow setting maybe. I'm sure one or both of the tow or econ setting will allow me to use the cruise control without it bucking while going down a hill. But thats what I need. I would like to try something out. ANy suggestions?

(All out ***** to the walls power) you'll want the 120race setting. I have it...hold-on!

(an economy setting) you'll want the 80econo. I have it...throttle respose is wicked.

(and a good tow setting maybe) depending on how heavy you tow, the 80tow might be what you want. Jody says that the 80tow is good up to 12K, but if you tow alot of steep grades a 60tow might be better. I have 80tow,60,tow and the 40tow because I wanted to cover all the bases. Good luck.

Can't go wrong with Jody.

I'm running his 40 tow, 80 econo, and 120 race.

The 40 tow is my failsafe setting. I can do anything with this and not worry about smoke or egt's.

The 80 econo is what I drive with all the time. Loads of power and good mileage.

The 120 race is awesome, if only my HPOP would keep up. I can feel it when the HPOP starts wheezing out on me, but before that happens it feels like my head is being ripped off.

injectors

Keep in mind smokewise anyway, I have stage II injectors. If jody can keep them from smoking. . . I'll give him a million dollars! How do you think his program will run with my setup? Will it be a different program?

He'll have to program for the Stage II's. Tell him the mods you have and what you want your truck to do, and he'll give you the best tuning out there. You'll get even more if he can do live tuning with you.

www.dp-tuner.com or 828-221-0076 He's in Asheville, NC.

Give Jody a call and talk to him a bit. He's tuned about every combination under the sun, and is responsible for the tuning on some big HP trucks (Dockboy and Bunting are the two immediate that come to mind). He knows his stuff, that's for sure. Let him know what you've got, what your goals are with tuning, and he'll be honest with you about what you can expect. Be sure to mention you were suggested to him by FTE - he is one of our sponsors.

Another vote for Jody. Ask him what he thinks you need. I was told not to get the 80HP Tow tune because my setup was going to run too hot with it.

What have you got working now? Just want some new/additional tunes, or actually need a change in tuning?

I plan on BTS, Big Oil, and ditch the race tune for something with more muscle.

Just like you Jeremy, I can't stop tinkering with my truck.

Good move! You'll be pleased. Which Big Oil setup?

The tinkering will probably never end. That's what I was doing last night, and I'm getting ready to head out the door to finish up. Nothing major this time for me, just some additional gauges.

I agree, Mr. Harvey! And it's doubly worse when you have the tinkering/mod bug for both you AND your wife's rig.

I'm just about to give my engine builder a two-grand deposit to start building an engine for my Lightning.

The last two years I've slowly added components needed to handle the power produced by a fully built engine (stuff like MB tranny, True-Trac diff, CF driveshaft, Walbro 255 fuel pumps, etc), but even then, I hesitate on my engine because I want some Stage 2 injectors from BDP for my wife's Excursion!!

Sigh, it never ends.
