The free vehicle repair guides at www.autozone.com contain the same wiring diagrams as Chiltons (they're essentially free version of the Chiltons manuals). The 3-4 shift circuit is pretty simple, and I've found these diagrams adequate for this circuit. The connector is on the driver's side of the transmission.
Your 3-4 shift solenoid is toast. Go to the parts store and get a new one along with the TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid, 10 or 12 quarts of Mercon ATF and a transmission filter kit. You will need to drop the pan and valve body to get to the solenoid. There is probably 2 or 3 quarts above the valve body that will need to drain out. Then you remove the old solenoids and put the new ones in and button it back up. It will take you the better part of an afternoon and a lot of floor dry. Add a drain plug to your trans pan if you haven't already. I can also post up the pages from the factory manual on replacing the solenoids if you need.
Also, pull the codes on your computer and you will see a 3-4 shift solenoid failure.
