If you are just plowing your driveway I wouldnt worry about any problems with the tranny, just go slow and keep it in 4wheel low, and you will be fine. I also have a 92 and man they are great trucks arent they, just one thing I do not like, the power steering in them. Well good luck with your plowing.
The 92's have auto hubs which lock and unlock everytime you change directions, service them before the cold weather, they freeze up in cold weather if you have them loaded with grease. Clean out all the old grease and just put a tablespoon of gear oil in them.
We changed ours out to manual hubs to eliminate this problem.
This will be the 6th winter with the plow on it and it has 435k on the clock.
