Smile Letchworth State Park (WNY) G2G

Ok gang!! There has been some interest in a G2G (get together) to be held at Letchworth State Park which is located in western New York. It was dallbright's (Dave) idea and John Pen stated he would fire up the smoker and make pulled pork and ribs for the event. So what does everyone think??

I for one would be there, but as John Pen stated in his post it would have to be after the holidays. So when would be a good time for everyone?? Post up your ideas and when and if you can attend.

Here is a link to the Letchworth State Park website:

Def after the holidays...

I have a large upgrade I'm doing at work, go live date is 01/01/07... if that goes as planned anytime after that I should have more spare time... or if it blows up, I won't have any spare time : )

Yes, I go along with the idea that after the holidays would be more attractive to a wider group of people. Maybe we can bring our most unwanted gifts and swap them!

While I am more reliably available on week days early in the week, I do have this recurring illness that might strike at almost any time I feel the need for a day off.

I do want to be involved and hope we can make this work for a mid-winter spirit-lifter.

Is there any way we could bring some photos back to this site to show the others who we are and what we drive...show off just a bit?

Pulled pork sounds good. Some hot mulled cider, a variety of coffees, hot chocolate & mini-mallows...left over dried-out Christmas cookies just ripe for dunking! We'll figure this out and have a time doing it.

Sign me up!

Dave

Well this is a start!! Four of us that plan on attending. I like some of Dave's ideas. Let see what else people want to do and we can get things firmed up some more as we go along.

I would take some time off too... if need be. I just think the weekend is better for the majority of those who may be attending.

Posting pics wouldn't be hard... free hosting everywhere.

That would work, possibly better for those who are farther away, I was just thinking if there were any kids or grandkids coming along, the tubing hill might be fun for them (or any fun loving adults looking for an excuse to not go to work for a few days afterward.) March would be pretty iffy for snow, but it does have some good weather, but not so good that we would be competing with a bunch of other outdoor activities.

Assuming I get awarded the week I bid on, I will have a week of vacation beginning 3/19, but will be away 3/21-22-23 and possibly 24 at the 2007 Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, KY.....so the 25th would work well for me attendance-wise. I wouldn't be able to do much in the way of last-minute leg-work unless I could do it 3/19 or 20.

March 25th, 2007 is a Sunday.

Does anyone here like the big trucks and want to form a WNY delegation to go to Louisville to MATS?

Sounds good to me. So far it is Dave, John, Jack, and myself. Anyone else interested???

Dave, don't know much about the Mid-America Trucking Show. Can you start a separate thread with info on it? Maybe others might be interested in attending. Thanks!!

Hey Guys,

March sounds good to me and if I am available, I would be willing to get together. As far as a date, weekends are better, but I would have no problems making a weekday.

Well we are up to six of us in March with a date of Sunday the 25th. Let's keep growing this and get our ideas together on what we want to do there. I know Barr will be bringing his spud gun. Any other activities?? I will be bringing my cameras so we can get pictures of the trucks and group shot of all of us too.
