I have a 2006 F250 PSD Lariet. Just found out I'm being transfered to S/W Wyoming. I will be there from Jan. until May. Is there any precautions or prep I need to do with my truck for the cold weather-block heater stuff like that.
I have never been anywhere that cold, but battery trickle charger, block heater and good anti freeze come to mind. Cold batteries have a harder time starting an engine, the charger will help with that.
You'll learn this soon enough, but there are things called "winter wipers" , which are windshield wipers on which the support structure on the wiper are covered by a rubber boot. What frequently happens is that when these areas fill with snow/ice the blade loses it flexiblity - and you lose your visibility...... You won'd be able to find them where you are, but ask around once you arrive.
Thick gloves, a heavy jacket, -40c snow boots, a snow shovel and 6 bags of traction sand in the bed over the back axle.
That what I've been hauling since the first snow dump, a few weeks ago.
