I have a 2005 f250 with 5.4 engine. I am about to put a 6 inch lift with 35's. I want to know if anyone else has lifted a truck with the 5.4 and how much of a difference is there in gas milage and power after lifting.
I have a 1999 F250 with the 5.4 and 4.10 rear axle , however , its 2wd and I added a 6" lift and went to a 285/75/16 which is I think approx a 32" tire.
I before the lift got around 10mpg in town and after I'm getting about 7mpg. On the highway I was getting between 14.5 and 17 before the lift and after I now get around 12.4 to 14.8 on the highway..
The tires are only about 1" higher I think and about 2" wider on my setup , and I think the loss of MPG is due to the increased wind drag do to height and the fact it is now level and the nose isn't down anymore, making it less arrow-dynamic.
