I have a 97 F150 4.6 that came with the remote start when I bought the truck last year. I had to order a new remote about a week ago due to my old one quit working. The problem I have is that I followed the procedure that came with the remote, what I didn't like is that I can't hit my star button to start the truck. So I followed the procedure for my system and now the truck won't even start. Unlocking the doors works great. I have no Idea what happened. The truck attempts to start but it won't it seems like the crank time got changed by itsel after I followed the other procedure. Could the crank time have been changed and now it won't start. When I followed the procedure provided w/ the remote the truck started fine but it would run in timer mode, meaning the parking lights flashed 4x instead of 1x when compared to my old remote. I thought it would help if I cleared all transmitters but now it seems that after reading on doing that it returned the brain back to default. Any answers would be great.
The thing is I lost the manual for the system, but I did get a website for the programming procedure. No I don't have a PATS key, my truck didn't come factory w/ anti theft. So I know it's nothing w/ my truck since it was working w/ my old remote
To add to my lost manual, I looked at the model but for some reason I find the manual online but it isn't the right one since I have remote start. I remember my manual saying something about remote start.
