I am looking for an Off Road look for my 250 and am considering either a Spray On Mud product or a mud decal. If the mud decal is realistic enough, this may be the most prudent route as I am concerned that spray on mud may affect the paint warranty.
This is the mud product I was considering; it seems to be rated higher than most of the other mud products, especially the synthetics.
that looks so lame. why would someone put that on their trucks. it doens't even look real at all ifyou want someone to think you go wheelin, then go wheelin and get it dirty the real way. geez, now i've seen it all.
who's turd of an idea was that. buddy, i got an idea- follow me up to the mud run last saturday of the month. Costs only $10 to run in the mud(real mud, too)all day plus $2 to pull you out if you get stuck...and best of all, you'll get that mud look you're wanting that will stay on there for quite a while if you don't wash it off
I think he's watched one too many jeep commercials. Warranty problems with the paint? I remember when the broncos had problems in the early '80's but I've never heard of any problems lately related to paint. That would be a good one..... your paint starts to peel off and the dealer says "sorry sir your truck is muddy/dirty your warranty is voided. It specificaly states on page 1000 of your owners manual that you must always keep your vehicle show room clean."
I've got some ORGANIC mud that is warranty safe. It sells for $100.00 a gallon. It's concentrated so you will have to mix it with some $4.00 a liter spring water. (available at your local grocery store)
Yea, the mud decals look real cheesy, they are worse than those bullet hole decals but this stuff is REAL mud. This is not the fake, synthetic mud you see advertised in all the mags. When you spray it on, it looks like mud because it is mud.
I ordered a case and will post my impressions after some usage.
I think there is no doubt that you should go with the decals. I mean, really, spraying that stuff on your pickup would almost be like actually getting some dirt on it. How tacky would that be! With the decals you can tell that it's not really dirt, but with this stuff, someone might think you're one of those hicks that actually takes your pickup off the pavement or something. How would that make you feel?
d00d, go out and get your truck dirty! Don't buy fake mud, go drive throught the muddiest, nastiest field you can find and take satisfaction that everyone around you is staring at your mud with wheels.
