Filter Numbers

Well, since the search function isn't working for me right now I guess I'll post a new multi-part question for the gurus.

1) I'm looking for filter part numbers for the following Fleetguard filters

OIL - STANDARD SIZE & LARGE SIZE (longer version)

FUEL - STANDARD STYLE without drain

2) Any suggestions on where to buy Fleetguard filters? None of my local stores seem to sell them

3) Are Baldwin brand filters any good? If so, anybody got part numbers for their oil filters (both standard & large) and fuel filters

4) Are Purolator brand filters any good? If so, anybody got part numbers for their oil filters (both standard & large) and fuel filters

5) Are WIX brand filters any good? I know I can get them at one of my local parts stores, and I've always thought they were pretty good - just a bit spendy.

6) Lastly, are there any OTHER brands that are recommended that are easier to find and/or less expensive?

You can get the Motocraft ones at Wal-Mart for a fair price. I don't know who builds them, but they seem well made. The Napa filters are made by Wix and are good quality. They do seem to have gone up in price lately though.

I can get Fleetguard filters at Ford, Fleetpride and NAPA here, we have a NAPA truck center.
The IDI long filter is LF3630.
Cummins owns Fleetpride, so you should probably be able to get it at a Cummins dealer also.
That is the only oil filter I ever run.

Baldwin and Wix are both good products as well.

I run a Purolator air and fuel filter, A44853 is the air filter for my ATS turbo, F54692 is the fuel filter for the 7.3 style with the water seperator that screws on the bottom.

Good ol' Wally world. You sure theirs aren't FRAM in disguise ?

I've read that elsewhere, but what I'm not sure of is does WIX manufacture all of Napa's filters, or just the "Gold" ones - you know the ones that cost double what the "regular" Napa filters do?

Thanks Dave, if I can't find the Fleetguard at least I can find a cross for it in WIX now that I have a number to start with.

Any particular reason?

Thanks, but neither of those helps me. I don't have your airbox, and I want the filter without the drain. Got a number for that one?

Then you would have no way of draining the water..........bad for IP.

Wix...33617 check that out........or Balwin BF1222 they have drains though.

Actually the older system (like mine) has the fuel/water separator on the firewall - and mine actually still works!

At least it does now that I plugged the drain hose with a bolt to keep it from sucking air

Mine started sucking air in around the top, I switched to the 7.3 style filter with the drain in the bottom, only downside is the cartridge is 19.95 each instead of 8 dollars.

Yeah, that's a pretty significant downside IMO. I'd probably replace the stock unit with a generic from a farm supply place before I'd go with the spendier "new & improved" version - which I have read can also leak air from either the top OR bottom seal.....

Sounds like a stealership-only item to me. Or maybe a boneyard.

If there are other sources I'm sure someone will chime in though....

You mean the aluminum water separator bowl? Ask at an International dealer too (or should I say Navistar). Not sure who would charge more.
