Search function DEAD?

Search function DEAD?
I just tried to do a search and when I clicked on the link a page came up with the following message

I also noticed that there is no search link under the FORUM TOOLS menu to allow me to search just the Pre-Powerstroke Diesel forum. WEIRD!

- Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
- If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

There has been a delay from the manufacturer receiving our new mega-server, and we must take this step to keep the current system serviceable during peak times

OK, now the search function seems to be back online, but there's a new oddball problem. After I read posts, their titles still show up in bold text - the board doesn'e seem to be marking them as read.
That happening to other people too, or just me?

The new server is still over a week from being online.
So many people were complaining that Admin juggled some other features to turn search back on.
Search may be on and off over the next week and a half till the new server is online.
Better to have a site online with no search than have a crashed site.
All will be well again in two weeks.
