Hello again, you guys have helped me quite a bit already with my other problems so here I go with another.
My ranger 4x4 is the push button type and after locking the hubs and pushing the button, the light (to the right of the button) does not come on. I've tried both buttons several times to no avail.
OK. I found out that the shift motor is bad and I bought a new one.
Problem: the harness on the new motor seems diferent than the existing one.
On the new harness, there are 3 empty holes; 1 in the center and 2 side by side.
The connector on the old motor harness has pin ( in the holes) coming from wires on the TCase.
All the other motors I've looked at have the same 3 holes as the new motor I bought...so should I remove the pins from the old motor connector and put them on the new motor connector or do I have the wrong motor?
