hi i just ordered the quad A-pillar and 4 autometer gauges. Pyro, Boost, Trans Temp and Oil Pressure. Trans temp and Pyro i understand what to do. But for the boost and oil pressure i do not know where to hook them in at. i have installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge on my 79 F250 and it was on top of the manifold. but this is an electric on my 06 PSD F350. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i am trying to get ready and install them tom. thanks
for boost i tapped intake elbow. 4 bolts hold it to intake manifold and the plastic tube clamp is one clamp, drill and tap place adpter reinstall, literally took me 15min to install the engine compartment parts. i dunno about oil
I put my Boost probe by the turbo on the inter cooler pipe. Would have put it on the Accufab intake (polished in back ground) as it has a mounting hole but did that mod after I had already done the Boost guage setup.
The Pyro probe at the head of the exhaust pipe, 4" mod.
Don't have a oil temp but you have to mount it in the oil pan and drill a hole for the sending unit. Have to weld it in which is PITA.

thanks guys. i appreciate the help. didnt get to install yet because i got off work late but plan to tom. Which location is more accurate or is it 6 one way half-a-dozen the other?

Looking for some gauge info also. Went on line to Dieselmanor, they have Isspro gauge kits & they have 2 options for hooking up the pyrometer thermocouple. A clamp & the drill & tap the Exhaust manifold method. The drill & tap is the way to go right? Also anyone tried their $25 can of spray paint (for plastic) to paint the A pillar? Kind of pricey!!!

I chose my location due to the fact that the closest to the intake manifold is what i wanted to monitor as far as boost pressure.but when dealing with pressure, a leak or loss of pressure should be noticed across the board of testing points. but my knowledge of physics is strictly self learned, i believe his is before the intercooler. also the location i used to me seemed like a quick install
P.S. its oil pressure so it has a sending unit? i didnt want to mess with welding on the oil pan with oil temp.
Order an alumnium oil filter cap from Oilguard, they already come drilled and tapped for 1/8NPT. Put a quick disconnect on the cap and on the line to make oil changes simpler, and run it straight from there.
Any other location will require drilling and tapping into either the engine block or oil cooler- neither of which is preferable with the engine still in the truck.

I took my A piller pod to a local body shop for a paint match to my King Ranch interior. Came out great and not even $25.
As far as where to mount the Boost probe mine is ahead of the inner cooler but as mention, it is a preasure thing and this was a good place to put it prior to the Accufab elbow addition.
I would have put it there had I have had it when installing the Boost probe given it has a hole pretapped. I didn't like the way the line got in the way of the fuel filter and the coolant overflow line (as seen in the pic w/ that location installed). It might be a little more work but it is out of the way of work areas like when you chjange oil & fuel filter.
With an oil line as well that will be one more line running in the same area too.
Options . . .
