Cold Air Intake

I just put a K&N Air Charger on my 2006 f150 5.4. I looked at all the dyno charts and for the 2000 to 3500 rpm range it gave me the most gains. The part number is 63-2556. I have had no check engine lights and it really added some pep. I just put a Gibson Exhaust on and it seems to be a really good combo.

the Volant rocks...I just put one on my truck 2 hours ago...it is so much fun that I got pulled over "testing" it out. I'm about to do a new topic detailing it with pics

Fly,

Smallmouth fisherman here in Brentwood. I have an 04 like yours. Do you have the 5.4 or 4.6? Did you notice any boost in power or mileage?

I have an AEM brute force on mine and with exhaust there is a definite difference in performance.

The AEM Brute Force and Volant intake are 2 of the best for F150's.

we have some useful user comments that you can check out and an intake research guide with extra info.

Sweet. I have the 5.4 and have noticed more power and my mileage has crept up a little. I commute from Nashville (Green Hills) to the 'Boro for work and I set it on 72 and cruise and I am getting almost 17MPG.

I'll bet your Edge Evo and Fram cai help bringing that up to 17MPG. Have you done any work on the exhaust?

I finally got 2 tanks of gas through my truck with the Volant installed. I've gained about 2 mpg when I keep my foot out of it. The new intake box helps the engine breathe easier and makes the throttle more responsive.

if you're going to spend the money, the Volant is a great buy. I shopped around and finally bought it from Bob Jusnes (he's a site sponser) for $269 shipped...his price was cheaper than Ebay

I put the Air Charger on my 06 5.4, there is difference for sure it the whole power band, but it Seems right before it kicks down a gear you get a little extra shot of power before it down shifts. I get a lot of comments how how quick my truck is for a ford, So I would say it makes a difference. Havn't had the extra 90 dollars to fill my tank up to check the mpg yet. I look forward to my next road trip to check it out. No matter what you buy I am sure you will be happy, I just put the K & N on because it was available at the store at the time I wanted one.
