96/97 Differences???

I have a 97 F350 PSD that I bought new and recently bought a 96 of the same. I noticed the 97 is rated at 225hp while the 96 is 215hp. Anyone know what International changed in those model years? Computer settings, internal parts, etc.? Also, if one were to use a tuner on both, such as the superchips, would the trucks have the same power afterwards or would the 97 retain a 10hp advantage?

Thank You

you must have a california truck that has the split shot injectors in them. and the computer programming is a little differnt and has a differnt fuel pump and regulator setup. other than that its all the same. the 97 would still have more power.

jake - The 97 is not a CA truck, I bought it new off the lot in Virginia, December '97. The 96 was in Kansas its whole life until last month. There's a noticeable difference in the trucks. Neither truck has many miles on it.

Cali trucks have a blue valve cover sticker i think (mine is black). I think that programming is the only difference in the two trucks
