I sold this Bronco to a friend and it ran well for about a week when it lost power and died. Now all it will do is crank but not start, if you pump the throttle it will attempt to start, if the throttle is not touched all it does is crank.
Codes thrown:
31
67
81
82
Work done:
New EGR (there was a code for EGR)
New FPR
New fuel filter
New plugs, wires, cap and rotor
There is 50 psi at the Schrader valve
There is spark at the plugs
There was also a code for the VSS which is currently removed awaiting the correct one
Is it possible that the TPS is bad even though a code has not been thrown? I am wondering because when the throttle pedal as pumped the engine at least attempts to start.
50psi at the shrader is to much. should be 39-41 max so you may have the wrong fpr on there. pull the plugs, how do they look? are you positive you have the plug wires on the right plug, ive done that a few times. whats your timing set at? should be 10*btdc with spout connector removed. check out www.fordfuelinjection.com on how to test the TPS. the VSS will not affect anything but rear abs which is a joke and if it doesnt work wont hurt a thing.
what brand plug are you using? check for vacum leaks as well.

The shrader valve appears to be before the fuel pressure regulator, maybe I am not looking at it correctly though. The plugs are brand new (Champion) and the Bronco quit running before they were changed, but yes the wires are routed correctly. Timing is unable to be checked since the Bronco will not run and I threw $40.00 at it and replaced the TPS which did not make a difference. Good to know the VSS should not be the problem though and I am checking vacum lines as well. Thanks...Jeff
Take the ignition control module off the distributor and have it checked. The parts store I work at does it for free(O-Reilly) This can cause a no start condition. Also the FPR opens up and the fuel flowing through it goes in the return line to the tank. If it's not opening or not opening enough you will have a high fuel pressure at the schradder valve since it relieves the pressure the fuel pump produces to keep the correct pressure in the fuel system.

If theres spark, find out if its at the right time. Get a bottle and some gas and squirt some down the intake, see if it runs. if it does without any backfires ect, then no fuel. if pops fires, ect then timeing is off, or the timing set jumped.
