No, I did not upgrade my fuel tank. E85 is no more corrosive than gasoline as long as it's not contaminated by water. Methanol is where this corrosiveness myth comes from. When water gets in it, it can rust things a bit, as can the 10% ethanol stuff you get at the pump now. No water = no problem. You'll know if there's water in it because the gas and ethanol will separate, making your engine probably not run. I did upgrade to multi-fuel compatibility fuel injection hoses though, just to be safe.
Rusty-what fuel injecton setup are you running? I have thought about the victor manifold and having injector bungs welded into it,then using the holley commander system. But dont know how that will work on the street.(daily driver)I live in Cali,so we dont have but one E85 station here. I would like to run E85,but cant run what you dont have! Besides that, the oil companies just love to "F" us out here-before the gas prices went down, they were as high as 3.80 gal for regular unleaded!!!! Diesel even HIGHER!! I really like the FE,but for economy reasons I have been kicking around the idea of a late model 351w FI and AOD.But need more info on FI FE's
I'm running Holley's Commander 950 TBI setup, 700cfm. Basically it's 4 injectors on top of a 4 barrel throttle body that goes where the carburetor went. Actually it works really well when you get it tuned. Tuning it is kind of a pain though. Everything is there, it's just that it takes FOREVER.
