I have a '97 F250HD 5.8L with a nasty exaust manafold leak. I was going to just replace the gaskets with Remflex gaskets, but since they are off I thought why not a shorty header - JBA ceramic maybe.
I have read all the posts about leaky headers etc. but what setup does seem to hold up without leaking? If you have made this work I'd like to know what you used (header and gasket wise).
i havent put headers on any of my trucks, but my buddy had good luck with headman longtubes and felpro gaskets on his 78 f150.
use good quality headers with a thick flange, and dont buy cheapo gaskets. retorque the header bolts after the engine has warmed and cooled a couple of times.
the truck had headers on it for 6 years and untill he took them off when he sold it they never gave him a problem
