I ordered a complete bolt on system part # 16614. The first one they sent was the wrong one. Waited over 4 weeks for this one. So I sent it back and they rushed me the right one (so they said) Got my system today and it had the right part #, opened it up and it was all thier and looked like it was all the right piece's. So I cut the old one off and stared putting the magnaflow system on. Got to the rear hangers and were they are welded to the pipe, I have to mount the new hangers were the FACTORY HITCH IS MOUNTED Called magnaflow and they told me that if they dont line up then I need to order part # 15834. My question is has anybody used this system and if so can I still use it, and just have my mechanic weld new hangers in the right spot? They need to go back about 3 inches to line up with the factory hangers. the same for the passenger side to line up with the factory holes already thier. I've already waited 5 weeks and spent over $700. any help will appreciated.
yes, you can use it. My buddy had to do the same thing. It only happens if you have the stock towing option. Your local shop shoud have not problem doing this.
I just ordered that same kit and it will arrive monday...so you're telling me that I have to order more crap to install this exhaust? do these people not even consider that almost every single F-150 comes with the hitch installed already.
i feel a little backwoods engineering coming on. I can't believe I'm going to be using baling wire on my brand new truck.

I hear what your saying man .I've spent over $700m and waited over 5 weeks. Ill let you know what happens today. Dont get me wrong I love the systeme, but 3 inches behind the holes is the factory mounts. Lets get it together.
Yeah that's the system I wanted to get for my '06, but after reading on here that there were problems with the factory hitch and the catback system. I think there's a warning on their website too. I went with the #16612 instead!
Well all I got to say is HELL YA the truck sounds awsome. I love it, I love how it grouls when you step on it in park, and when just cruising you can barely hear it, but when you step on it "OH YA BABY" its on. My muffler guy told me $100 to put it on, and I would have to wait until a weak day, first thing in the morning. wount be going back to him. My mechanic was off today, but was at his shop working on his crotch rocket. He let me use all his air tools and lift to work on my exhaust. all I did was cut the 2 tail pipe hangers and rewelded the passenger side hanger to work with the factory mount that was already thier. The drivers side was easy also. Just bend one of the hangers they give from a 90 to a 180 (strait) and mount it to the frame using the clip and bolt from the kit. Mount the rubber bushing to it and the cut off hanger and reweld that side. Not to bad 1 1/2 hours and three beers later the guys could'nt wait to hear it. I also had a mechanic's shop to work in. I also went ahead and welded the tips on to. Dont want any one to steel them.
Oh, I remember the first time I started my truck up after I put my Magnaflow on...I was smiling ear to ear. Thats what a V8 is supposed to sound like! Enjoy your truck and good luck trying to keep your foot out of the gas
Magnaflow clearly warns about this on their website. They aren't hiding from it they make it very clear that modifications will be needed to install their dual systems with a factory hitch. Look at the hitch, It's no normal bolt up hitch with those huge brackets taht bolt to the frame. Not trying to be a jerk, but doing research into the product would have eliminated this fiasco. I went with the 16612, because dual out the back flat out suck if your going to be hooking tralers up fairly often.
how does dual exhaust out the back interfere with trailer hook-up? I've only had one problem ever, and that was when I had some sharp a$$ tips and cut my knee because I wasn't paying attention. I'm not a fan of the side-out exhausts because they tend to get crushed while off-roading. the hitch usually offers some protection for the dual out the rears
I agree that it is my fault for not noticing the "*May require modification to fit on vehicles equipped with trailer hitch."
I am just annoyed that there is no consideration that the majority of these trucks come with the hitch installed. At the very least, they should offer 2 more brackets to allow for this fitment. I don't think I am asking for much when you start paying hundreds of dollars for a product
Well it would be my guess that a lot of guys aren't going to be doing enough serious off roading to worry about crushing your exhaust that tucks right up behind the rear tire. I think more and more trucks aren't even going off road period anymore. My cousin has dual tips out the rear on his '03....and getting the trailer plugged into his plug can sometimes be tricky. I say this because I know it's no fun being face to face with an exhaust tip trying to hook the trailer up. Now his trailer was a dark color but I would guess that dual exhaust constantly breathing on a white trailer would "dis-color" it...maybe not just my .02.
I can totally see that argument. I have towed a trailer before and had the edges get discolored because the truck was running rich. Hopefully, with fuel injection though, I won't have that problem
The single out magnaflow is very well protected, as it comes out closer to the tire than factory. I would feel that dual out the back are way more vulnerable if your going to wheel your truck. My brother has a flowermaster setup with duals on his 91, and he has destroyed the tips wheeling it, to the point they were almost totally closed off, but at that point, your beating the hell out of your truck. It has a hitch, but rocks don't always chose to hit the hitch. Just throwing it up for info purposes, not trying to start any wars. And trying to hook the trailer to that pig almost kills you, that why i decided to go with SISO. But granted at least while these trucks are still new nobody's going to go rockcrawling anytime soon.
Looking at the SISO 16612. I have an '06 FX4 scab with 6.5' bed.
Can't tell by your pics in gallery if your truck is 5.5 or 6.5 bed.
Want to be sure on fit. Thanks
