PIP Code, What to do?

A month ago engine died and restarted itself after a second or two going down the highway. Saturday, while idling in traffic, it died and would not restart until about five minutes later. Today, after warm up, I pulled codes. Got a continuous memory 211 which is Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) circuit fault. I have no clue what to do so would appreciate some help. What? Where? How? I'll be away from a computer until Monday, unless I have to walk home from deer lease which may take a while longer.

Here's a starting place copied and pasted from my service manual.....

CONTINUOUS MEMORY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 211: ERRATIC IGNITION

DTC 211 indicates two successive erratic Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) pulses occurred, resulting in a possible engine miss or stall.

Possible causes:

-- Loose wires/connectors.

-- Arcing secondary ignition components (coil, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, etc.).

-- On-board transmitter (2-way radio).*

l Verify all radio and condenser installations. Carefully follow manufacturer's installation instructions regarding the routing of antenna and power leads.

l Are any of the above present?

Yes
SERVICE as necessary. CLEAR Continuous Memory (REFER to Quick Test Appendix, «Section 5».) RERUN «Quick Test».

No
For No Starts:

REFER to «Section 8», DI Diagnostics.

All others:

GO to «NA2».
