Hello Boys and Girls. New guy here.
Will someone tell me how to read engine codes of my 1990 Ranger w/ 4.0L.
I bought it from a friend and he changed the plugs and wires because it was running really rough.Altho he says its better its still idles rough and the check engine light comes on when ran at highway speeds and sometimes around town.
I did fix some of those hard brittle vaccum lines, clean the MAS sensor, and the AIT sensor.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.Ken.
Tried that.Sent the Daughter while she was out(second mistake) and they told her they couldnt check my truck because its old. That was Advance auto parts.
I told Her to stop at Autozone but not unless the check engine light was on.So far it hasnt made it there.Ken.
I'm pretty sure there is a way to pull the codes yourself with a multi-meter, on the older ones (that A-Z won't do). There used to be a link to the directions in the tech sticky (boy, do I miss those stickies...).
Try a search of the forum, or maybe someone who knows how will post it up.
