I am trying to decide if I want to go with some 18 inch wheels with 35inch off road tires, or if I want to go with 22inch wheels with low pro tires... which would you do??
Also -- how much of the "RIDE" would be effected with each?
A low pro tire will be much more rougher ride because there is less side wall to flex. The off road tires (AT or MT tread) will be louder on the road as a result of the tread pattern.
My truck is 4WD and I do like to go offroad quite a bit so my choice was obvious, but it may come down to how you run the truck and which you prefer.
say you already have an 18" tire, to go with the 22" rims you won't have that low of a profile tire. you will only be increasing the rim size by 4" and the tires will increase by 3.25"...my truck has 18" rims and 32" tires right now and they have plenty of sidewall
To me, 18s would be the biggest.
I'd prefer 17s.
They look good enough, and they are alot cheaper than 22s. Also, tires to fit on a 22" rim are anything but cheap.
Tires for a 18" rims are expensive enough as it is.
you need the lift kit for the 35" tires unless you're truck is a pavement princess and it will never go over any bump more serious than a speedbump. the 35" tires might fit, but the second a tire needs to stuff into the wheel well, you will rub.
a 33" tire will fit nicely with/without the leveling kit
