I put a 429 in my 79 bronco, and I'm looking into a few upgrade options that I have.
I want to upgrade the power steering, to one of the sag pumps, I also want to put on the serpentine belt system.
Now, my questions start here, what year did the sag pump last use SE fittings, before they changed to metric, this will save me having to get conversion hoses to fit the steering box.
With the 429 being internally balanced, and the v belt pulleys being one with the front harmonic damper how would I go about doing a serpent system. I know on the externally balanced the front pulley bolts to the damper? Can I replace the damper with a neutrally balanced unit and attach a pulley to the front of it?
Also one more question, I want to upgrade the alternator, I know there's a load of information on upgrading to the G3, but the quick question is, do I have a voltage regulator stock on this truck or is it built into the alternator. Given this is a stock alternator for a 79 bronco.
Thanks, and yes I have tried to search for the serpentine belt swap, found it once, but can't find it again. So if you know where it is, please post a link.
