FE Vibration Damper
I have determined that the best way to resolve my v-belt drive problem is to change the vibration damper. The one currently on the truck has a different three bolt pattern than all the other FE vibration dampers in the junk yard! This damper is one v-belt pulley wide, about 1/2 inches (looks like a pulley), but closer inspection shows a thin layer of rubber between the inner and outer components. I have only seen one other like this on a FE motor. Another possibility would be to drill an additional bolt pattern in a pulley so it will fit my damper? Every thing else on my power steering conversion is going along really great. At the end of the day I need one belt for water pump/alternator, one belt for an after market AC, and one belt for my PS pump. Thanks for all the help and advice!
