I am helping a friend sort out a 69 F-100 with what he was told has a 352 . Right now it is mannual steering ,no A/C. It has a 3 belt pulley attached to the front of the harmonic balancer . The 3 belt pulley has been balanced . I can see the drill bit holes . The front pulley rotates smoothly . The damper which carries the belt for the waterpump and the alternator wobbles. I told my friend to get rid of the 3 belt pulley and buy a new harmonic balancer . I found a Professional Products damper. I have had good luck with their product on a 351. Just looking for some insight .I don't know why someone would put that 3 belt pulley out their with no belts to run . The more simple the better . A single belt pulley on the crank and water pump is what I recomended.
The Pro Products balancer is a good choice. I bought the SFI version and it's very nice. The PP balancer should come with a single groove pulley and a new timing pointer. He should be able to get them from NAPA or any good vendor. Last time I looked NAPA also sold a OEM style FE balancer. Seems to be a decent part as well. Not sure who makes it though.
Here's a nice American- made in Newark, CA, very good quality, SFI 18.1 certified unit- 7 different versions available. I just put this particular one on a 450ci stroker 428CJ, it fit perfectly, checked the timing marks and it was within 1 degree- not bad
