1960 ford trans - t-98 4speed

I just purchased a 1960 f100 with a 292 and 4 on floor. Truck runs good, but on my first road run about 1 mile the floor shift locked up in first. It will not shift. I took the floor cover off to expose the trans. it is a t-98 warner 4 speed. Due to the age and miles, I am thinking it needs a rebuild. Does anyone know about this trans? What would a rebuild cost and are parts readily available? I would like to keep the original trans if possible. I am quite excited to gradually rebuild this truck over the next few years.

i have seen a number of these trans for sale, including e-bay, if you can get a good one from someone changing out running gear, and it is know to be a good trans,i would suggest this , since it could be a lot less money

I had a similar problem with mine that had sat for a decade or more.
Cleaned all the old gunk off the forks and flushed the insides out several times with degreaser. Did this in the vehicle.
Refilled with fresh lube and its been fine the past 4 years.

I wish people would take the time to fill in their profile, helps when offering something to a guy in need.
I have a spare tranny.
