I am wondering if there is anyone out there that would know the weight of a cab, hood, front fenders, inner fenders, rad mount and grill from a 56 would weigh.
I shipped a set of front fenders (inner and outer), air deflector, lower valance to Norway a couple of years ago and the weight was 200# for those pieces... add another 40# for the hood and 10# for the grill... hardware, hinges... I'd put it between 250# and 300# for everything... sounds like a tilt coming on !!!
Thanks John, I will be useing all the sheetmetal on my truck. I purchased a cab and complete front clip, no frame that I need to haul home. The weights are important because I was going to use my 97 Ranger and a single axle trailer for the job.
Here are guesses for the weights of the parts that I estimate from handling/moving and working on the spare pieces for a couple of years.
Hood 85 pounds
Cab 300 pounds (no fuel tank, seat, gauges, steering, doors, etc)
Front Fender 35 pounds each
Fender inner 12 pounds each
Rad mount U-Collar 40 pounds
Rad side valances 4 pounds each
Rad upper valance 18 pounds
Grille 10 pounds (no park lights, headlights, etc)
I don't have a scale in my shop, but could use a bathroom scale if you need exact values.
Doors are real heavy with glass and trim installed. Maybe 140 pounds each.
