CCV Mod

I was wondering, when I do my CCV Mod, is there any noticeable gains? Also, since I have 152,000 miles worth of crap in my intercooler, should I maybe try to clean it out, or is it even worth it?

I don't believe there is any gain in power but it will stop the chance of a ic boot leaking from the oil. The only gain would be if you have a boot leak now and you stop the leak. If you are worried about the oil in the intercooler you can get a 6.0 ic from ebay for around 150 shipped and it will help with egts and be clean. You can do a search on ccv and you will have tons of material to read.

....How much it will help what? The CCV rerouting only prevents oil from coming in the intake, and it prevents the oil from seeping out of the boots, and also from them popping off. It's embarassing when they do. I did the CCV mod a long time ago, and i still have oil being flowed out of the intercooler and up the pipe.

Sorry, I meant how much does swapping a 6.0 intercooler make? Is it "worth" the time taken to do it?

If you just drive around unloaded, no it won't make much of a difference. It is when you are towing, many people see 100-150* drop in EGT's.

Cool, I could use that when "showing others that Ford makes a superior truck". I hate having to back down cause I'm getting hot!
