Has anybody seen the SEMA F150 FX2 yet? pictures of it on Autoweek's website. It looks okay, but doesn't warrant show vehicle status. Many folks on these boards have a nicer truck than that.
HOWEVER, I do like the body-colored side view mirrors. Has anybody looked into this or had this done? I'm not sure how the paint would stick to the surface of the mirror shells, or how long it would last. I do know that the plastic black stuff looks pretty drab when the rest of your rig is all polished up. I may just bite the bullet and do it in the spring, see how it comes out.
You can sand the grainy texture out or you could fill the grainy texture in with a high build primer. If done correctly it should look great. I like the fact of my mirrors being black. I use slip on tow mirrors that I am sure would leave scuff marks on a painted finish. With the black ones you can't see any scuff marks.
