I bought the whole kit from dieselsite with 6 filters total and 2 ball valves. Think I paid about 125.00 with shipping. Plugged 1st filter at 300 miles, 2nd at about 1000. Totally happy now. 3rd filter now has about 5ooo miles and still flowing good. Beachbum hit the nail on the head with this kit. I could maybe build something 10 or 20 dollars cheaper but my time is worth a few beers, lol. Do what feels right for you, but the coolant filter is one of the cheapest and best investments I can think of. This and a dollar gets you a cup of coffee.
Friend of mine has new 06 and he was over today to get his fuel filter/oil change done for the start of winter....I showed him my cut filter housing.... Hey we have another convinced owner of the filtration system. I'll be installing his next week
I'm sure you can toss the bracket that comes with the kit and fab up your own.
I misunderstood what you meant in your previous post. I thought YOU were making the kits.....MY BAD. I'll get one from Doug and modify the bracket. The aluminum one in matts truck is a little to flimsy to suit my taste, although I'm sure it's quite adequate for the job.

I confuse my wife..... are you two related
What I was trying to say.....I like to fabricate my own stuff, for the general public you can order a kit for almost the same money that I spent putting my coolant filter together. The bracket can be fabricated if you do not like the universal one in the kit. Or.....you can drive up to Ohio and I'll make you a bracket...custom made....just for you
Might be something to do in the spring for sure. Maybe we can conjure a couple of sets of twins while I'm there. I already have ideas for the plumbing nightmare. A little bird told me your fab skill were quite marvelous.

It did have a large steel spacer in it to add rigidity, but I seem to have lost it sometime between engine removal #'s 7 and 22 It should also have 3 bolts holding it in, and not just sandwiched between the rubber spacers that bolt down the intercooler. That probably has something to do with it
I should just leave out about 2/3's of the fasteners in the engine compartment and replace the rest with wing nuts at this point

He tries but then he has to listen to me gripe. Wingnuts.....hmmmmmm.....that's an interesting idea, but I think most of the clearances are too tight. Maybe Ford should have a TSB and replace all the fasteners with reverse re-engineered wingnuts to speed warranty claims.....oh wait.....warranty denied.....you have an aftermarket wingnut on your truck.
