2000 f350 front banging sound

2000 f350 front banging sound

when i drive ny truck over anthing that that will make it bounce a little like driving through a hay field. i get a banging sound that sounds like its coming from the front drivers side you can some time feel it buy your feet. we check everthing to see if it was moving plus replaced the shocks. but cant find it, any ideas.

This comes up in the SD forums all of the time. Sometimes they are bad sway bar links, or mounts. Bad bushinngs, or something like that. Other thing is loose body mounts. Kinda common for these trucks. Recommend that you disconnect one end of both of the sway-bar links, (isolate the sway bar completely) and see if you can duplicate the noise. If you can, it is probably the body mounts. In that cse you will have to remove the carpet to get to them. Tighten them to say 100 - 120 ft. lbs. and you should be good to go If the sound goes away after you have disconnected the links, you know the problem is in the sway-bar assy. somewhere. Good-luck.
